Explore how to identify design opportunities, research site conditions, and transform initial concepts into architectural sketches, digital models, renderings, and a physical scale model. Experience the complete architectural design process while discovering how thoughtful design can improve the spaces and communities around us.

Accessing the Assignment

  1. Download the Phase 3 project guide.

  2. Review the project overview, design challenge, and required deliverables.

  3. Follow the project roadmap, completing each stage from community research and concept development to digital modeling and physical model construction.

  4. Compile your drawings, renderings, model photographs, and final presentation.

  5. Submit your completed project through the Project Submission & Review section.

Ready to share your work? Submit your completed architecture projects to receive feedback and track your progress as you develop your design skills.

Submission Instructions

Please include the following with every project submission:

  1. Project Name: Give your project a title.

  2. Lesson: Identify the Phase and Lesson associated with your project.

  3. Software Used: List the program(s) you used to complete your design.

  4. Project Upload: Provide a shareable link or completed PDF to your completed digital project, if applicable.

  5. Project Images: Upload clear screenshots or exported images of your finished design. Include multiple perspectives when relevant.

  6. Design Reflection: Briefly explain your design, the tools you used, any challenges you encountered, and what you would improve.

Before Submitting

  • Make sure your project is complete and saved.

  • Check that your project link is accessible.

  • Ensure all uploaded images are clear and show your work.

  • Include all required files and information.

What Happens Next?

Once submitted, your project will be reviewed. Feedback will focus on your design decisions, use of architectural tools, creativity, and opportunities for improvement.

Remember: Your projects are an opportunity to experiment, develop your skills, and document your growth as a designer. Don't be afraid to try something new!

  • This phase will draw on the tutorials and resources from Phases 1 and 2. Refer back to previous lessons whenever you need guidance on architectural principles, sketching techniques, or digital modeling tools.
